"Love Me Over again" is a hit vocal by English singer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the U.k. where it was released on thirty June 2013 as the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written past Newman and Steve Booker and produced past Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was after featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.
It was nominated for the Brit Laurels for British Single of the Year at the 2022 BRIT Awards[1] and nominated for the 2022 Ivor Novello Honour for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
Background [edit]
In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the vocal had something special near it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned effectually and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'In that location's something good here'. Only you just never know how good it is, you know?".
Newman was as well asked if it was difficult to write the lyrics about dear and break-upward, he said, "No, it's the only identify where I really open up upward to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the anthology] and writing it, it'due south good. I like to keep a concur of everything".[ii]
With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the central of M Dorian. The fundamental signature is in D minor. Both are modes of F major, of which either one tin be used as the tonic note/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not nowadays in the song.[3]
Music video [edit]
Two music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, take been released for "Love Me Again". One version[four] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the archetype honey story of Romeo and Juliet.[five] The adult female in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over past her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment equally they go run over past a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-upwards single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a striking-and-run blow.

"Love Me Once again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,[8] giving information technology a cult status among FIFA fans, likewise as the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA'southward archive during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also appeared in the endmost credits of the 2022 science fiction film, Border of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The vocal was besides featured on the American TV series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on vi March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the first episode of season 4, "I-Ii-Three Go", which aired xi June 2014. "Love Me Over again" is too a playable song in Just Dance 2015. The song was also used equally the theme to the goggle box show Whiskey Condescending which debuted in Feb 2022 and concluded in May afterward one season.[9] In August 2022 and May 2022 it was used in TV and radio adverts for National Rails.
The French channel TF6 besides used this song to shutdown its channel.
